What to Expect:
Live Jazz Performances with Pianos for People:
Feel the beat and immerse yourself in the spirit of jazz, as talented musicians bring the history of St. Louis’s jazz scene to life. In partnership with Pianos for People and Fox Performing Arts Charitable Foundation, this event will feature performances by incredible artists who will showcase the city’s deep jazz roots. Whether you’re a long-time jazz lover or new to the genre, the music will have you tapping your feet, singing along, and feeling the energy of this vibrant art form.
Jazz Hands: Move and Groove to the Beat:
Jazz isn’t just about listening—it’s about feeling the rhythm and moving your body! Join us for interactive dance and movement sessions where families can get their jazz hands up and groove to the music. These sessions will show how dance and movement are an essential part of the jazz tradition, encouraging kids and adults alike to have fun and get moving to the beat.
Creation Station:
Kids can continue their creative journey by crafting a unique piece of art with STL ArtWorks! This station allows children to use tangible items as a blank canvas to explore their imagination and take their creation with them.
Fresh Produce and Plant-based Activities:
Enjoy the bounty from Urban Harvest's network of 6 farms across St. Louis where they grow organic produce. Take some home with you or use the plant-based materials to create fun edible art.
Pianos for People - A Hands-On Musical Experience:
Have you ever wanted to try playing jazz on the piano? Now’s your chance! Pianos for People will have keyboards available for hands-on musical exploration, allowing participants of all ages to try their hand at playing and learning music. It’s a fun and inclusive way to connect with music, whether you’re just starting out or want to expand your skills.
